Objective: To evaluate and optimise the business and operational management system for the CE of small MDs and generate guidelines for their application. In this work package we will aim to develop simulation & economic evaluation tools to assess the feasibility of circular design options for each reference small MD product.
- The CE system will be evaluated from two perspectives: the supply & recovery chain of small MD and the use of small MD in Health and Care settings as shown in the diagrammatic representation.
- We will use Simulation and Value Stream Mapping tools to develop our models. Our models will evaluate the operational feasibility of small MDs in a circular economy system.
- Based on this, we will assess a number of optimal circular designs to consider production, use, reprocessing and re-purposing alternatives of small MDs to identify optimal circular designs that reduce environmental impact and waste.
